Yet whether or not there is life after death is a question humankind has grappled with since the beginning of time. It embraces a complex search for a number of answers, with the ultimate goal being an understanding of what happens to us when we die. The enormity of this question is addressed through many lines of inquiry, including through TELERF&#8217;s research into the apparent visions, communications, signs and messages that are received by the living from those who are deceased. Systematic investigation into this phenomenon has been taking place for many years, with the results of a significant investigative study in to 32 000 cases of after-death contact, conducted by the Society for Psychical Research, UK, published as early as 1882.<\/p>\n<p>More often than not, the profound understanding of those who receive messages and signs from deceased loved ones is that these communications are real and that their loved ones live on. Although the recipients themselves may be convinced of this, this is not to suggest that everyone is entirely convinced of their authenticity. In some instances, however, messages not only hold reassurance and comfort for the recipient but also carry specific and relevant instructions that can be investigated. The message also asked Anna to go to where her late mother used to work. Anna was then to look in her mother\u2019s desk drawer, in which she would find an envelope with money inside it. Anna was told that she should pay the debt owing as per the note and money inside this envelope. Anna went to her mother\u2019s desk, found the envelope with the money and the note of debt enclosed, and did as she had been asked.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>*Anna is a pseudonym to protect the identity of the family involved (TELERF, 2015).<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><!-- close content main div --><\/div><\/div><div id='after_section_1'  class='main_color av_default_container_wrap container_wrap sidebar_right' style=' '  ><div class='container' ><div class='template-page content  av-content-small alpha units'><div class='post-entry post-entry-type-page post-entry-3289'><div class='entry-content-wrapper clearfix'>\n<div class=\"flex_column av_one_full  flex_column_div av-zero-column-padding first  avia-builder-el-5  el_after_av_section  el_before_av_section  avia-builder-el-no-sibling  \" style='border-radius:0px; '><section class=\"av_textblock_section \"  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock lastptag-imgtextsamegap '   itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Messages from, or contact with, the deceased can be spontaneous and directly experienced by the bereaved, or may be received in other ways such as through a medium, mobile\/cell\/telephone answering machine or via a computer. A significant number of the bereaved report sensing the presence of a loved one through smell, sight, sound or touch. Contact may occur as a vivid and unforgettable dream or through sign\/s that are, or become, relevant to the bereaved person\/s.<\/p>\n<p>In the main, these communications, visions, messages and signs are intuitively felt, by the bereaved, to be reassuring messages from deceased loved ones. Messages that confirm that they live on and remain connected with the loved ones they have left behind. For the bereaved, these are valuable and meaningful experiences that tend to ease the grief of loss and lift the recipient emotionally. It was as if she knew that. She came to me in a dream. But it was so much more than a dream. She lay next to me in my bed and she held me. She looked so well. She was glowing. I could feel her, I could smell her, as she held me. She told me she was happy and that I should not be sad. I know that my mother is alive. I feel so comforted by her visit, so warm inside. Through this understanding, experients often report that their personal fear of death subsides or dissolves.<\/p>\n<p>In her talks and webinars Elaine emphasises that, almost without exception, these after-death communications bring reassurance, meaning and transformation to those who receive them.
