Potentially, this may continue over a number of incarnations or embodiments. The belief that one lives many lives is regarded as fact by roughly half of the world\u2019s population, primarily in the East. Yet, in the West, this view is often met with a great deal of scepticism.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past fifty years, however, apparent memories of past lives have been increasingly researched across the globe, many of which have been carefully and thoroughly documented. Memories of a past life, or lives, may surface as a result of spontaneous recall or during hypnotic regression. Some of these memories have been sufficiently detailed for them to be factually verified.<\/p>\n<p>The spontaneous memories of very young children are of particular importance here, as these young ones have had little exposure to other sources of information that could account for their memories. Cases of this nature are limited in number with the late Prof. Ian Stevenson, and currently Prof. Jim Tucker of the University of Virginia, USA, responsible for the majority of this research work. Furthermore, there are a substantial number of reports of English-speaking adults shifting into a different language, dialect or accent whilst under hypnosis. Cases of this nature have, on occasion, been suggestive of a past life.<\/p>\n<p>There is increasing evidence to suggest that a past life has the potential to influence one\u2019s life behaviourally, emotionally, psychologically and physically. When a person experiences an awareness of a past life, acknowledging this potential influence may help one to understand one\u2019s special interests, talents or ambitions. It may also explain an instant attraction or dislike for another person as well as, for example, feelings of d\u00e9j\u00e0 vu or a sense of having met someone before.<\/p>\n<p>In some instances, the potential influence of a past life on a person&#8217;s fear or phobia is revealed. In many cases this is not necessarily a verifiable link but the impact on the person who is remembering the triggering event is suggestive of one. During my regression I saw my own death\u2026.I was tried for a crime I did not commit but was found guilty. I was hanged. I remembered the rope and briefly became aware of a sense of constriction and suffocation. Therapeutic access to this past life or lives, and the subsequent healing, convinces them of the impact that the past life or lives has had on the present; an impact from which they have been released. The information that is revealed, and the healing that takes place, can alter their life dramatically. As the work of psychiatrist, Dr Brian Weiss, has highlighted, there are cases of this nature that suggest both the continuity of life beyond death and the possibility of past-life experiences influencing the present.<\/p>\n<p>In her talks and webinars, Elaine explores this broad and complex field of research in depth. She cites specific cases of past-life recall, including those associated with psychological healing. Elaine shares cases of this nature that have been researched through TELERF and, with permission, the experiences of people she has regressed. In a number of these cases, regression therapy has not necessarily been introduced to access a past life but rather to access a starting point for healing. In such instances the person has, however, &#8216;slipped&#8217; into a past life when searching for this point.<\/p>\n<p>Few discussions raise more questions about who we really are than that of potentially having lived and died before.
